High School Arts Awards Banquet Announced
The High School Arts Awards Banquet, for seniors who excel in either the performing or visual arts is being held on Monday, April 1, 2013 at 6:00 P.M. at the Aqua Turf in Plantsville (Southington). This very successful event is being co-sponsored by Jostens and Bearingstar.
Each CAS member high school is invited to select two outstanding seniors who excel in the performing and/or visual arts programs, i.e., art, dance, drama, or music. Students may be selected from one or any of the inclusive art forms. The criteria for selection are as follows:
CRITERIA: Each CAS member school may select two outstanding performing and/or visual arts seniors.
EXPLANATION: Outstanding ability in the performing and visual arts is of primary importance in making your selection. Although scholarship achievement is not a basic criterion for this award, it is suggested that it be considered when a decision needs to be made if there are multiple students with comparable ability in the visual or performing arts. The awards can go to students of either sex or students of the same sex.
SELECTION COMMITTEE: At least one school administrator and the school's performing and visual arts teachers should serve as the selection committee.
All CAS member high school principals have received information regarding the recognition banquet.
To register, visit the CAS website at www.casciac.org. Click on the Member Login and enter your School Number and Login ID (this information is on your CAS membership card). Once you have successfully logged in, select "View/Edit HS Arts Banquet Reservation Form” from the list of options, fill in the required information and hit “submit.” You will receive an immediate email response that confirms your reservation and provides instructions for prompt payment. Please have the names of everyone attending along with their meal choices before you begin the online registration. Please verify the spelling of your honorees' names before registering so that they are correct on name tags, on plaques, and in the program.
School personnel and family members are invited to attend this celebration. Each school may reserve a table of up to 10 (maximum) before March 1, 2013 for its honorees and invited guests. Each person must be registered online in order to attend.
- The registration deadline for this banquet is March 1, 2013 (FIRM DEADLINE).
- The cost for the banquet this year is $38.00 per person (no charge for honorees).
- Meal Choices: NY Strip Steak, Chicken, or Vegetarian Lasagna
- Collect registration fees and submit one school/district check, payable to CAS, by March 25, 2013.
