Dear Legal Mailbag: We have had a successful in-school suspension program for some years now. One of the aspects of our program has been to email the staff the afternoon prior to the ISS so that teachers can get the work ready for the students scheduled the next day. That work is then brought/emailed to our ISS coordinator who then tracks the work completion and ensures that completed work is returned to the teachers. My question deals with that email. Continued

Are you an administrator who will be evaluated under the new SEED model?
CAS is offering a short workshop to familiarize administrators with the components of the SEED administrator evaluation model. This orientation is designed for administrators who will not be evaluating other administrators but will need to be aware of how the model will evaluate their performance. This no-cost session will be held at the central office in Cheshire on September 26th at 4:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be offered. Register now!
CSDE Seeks Volunteers for Data Committee
The CSDE would like to establish a Data Reports Committee which, among other things, would review data collection plans that the CSDE develops prior to the implementation of those plans. CAPSS, CAS and CASBO (CT Association of School Business Officials) have been invited to select five representatives to serve on this committee.
